It's so hard to really get into a new place. But I've been trying hard to get facebook out of my life for some time and the zone may be what I need to finally rid myself of the like-plague. lol

So far I've been a bit reserved here. I didn't find this board until today so I figured I might as well say hi.

My profile tells all I care to tell about me really. I'm an anti-social scatterbrain in need of other people. I recently started a podcast called Studio Chaotic; my latest venture and not my last I'm sure.

Married, no children, a head full of things I want to create. It does get a bit crowded in there. and yeah, blind and a bit mean-spirited when it comes to bad web-design.

Ok, I'm done. I'm glad to be here.

Hi, and welcome. As a fellow socially reserved person, I know how difficult it can be to fit in, and just to find the right sort of place. I myself have tried to be friendly and outgoing, and I find that many seem to take that as an open invitation to be best friends when really I was just trying to be respectful. then for awhile, I chose the other extreme. I just flat out didn't talk to anyone unless I had to. that didn't work either, and I lost quite a few decent friends in the process. Oh well. Live and learn, I guess. Now I'm kind of in the middle, though leaning slightly towards closed off. I still get taken for cold and standoffish sometimes, but nobody will ever judge anyone completely accurately at first. Anyway, I didn't mean to make this about me and my life story; I promise! haha. welcome, and I hope you enjoy what the site has to offer.

Ocean, you nailed it. The balance is so hard to find when it comes to being social. The "open invintation" thing I recognize all too well. And thank you all. I think I will like it here. And just as Ocean, I can probably seem a bit distant, but it's not really who I am. I'm careful, been burned by either me being "too fast to trust" ", or simply having had the wool pulled over my head too many times.

Hi Jin.
You sound like a thoughtful person who is wondering about her place on the zone. Well, your place is really where you want it to be. It's up to you.

The boards are a good place to engage others in conversations, at your own speed.

I can't say too much about qns because I don't turn them on often, but others like them a lot.

Sometimes I come on here, don't want to say anything to anybody, so I just play the games.

One thing that initially impressed me about the zone is how welcoming the zone is. Though it's primarily a site for the blind, blindness is not a requirement--there are a number of folks on here who are sighted.

Anyway, welcome to the zone. If you have any questions or concerns, ask one of the cls, or ask here on the boards, or send anyone a private message.

Have a good time.

Bob
